About Sage

Sage Costanzo; pen name Sage C. McCullough, has been cultivating her career in drama and writing for over 25 years.  In second grade, she realized her calling was to be a writer...but in college, she discovered her talent for playwriting...and the playwright was then born.  She has an extensive background in the dramatic arts as a playwright, producer, and director.  

In 2003, she founded and was the Executive Director, of The Starving Artist Theatre, a nonprofit company which closed in 2011.

A prosperous playwright and producer; Sage has received praise from sources like the Washington Post, Northern VA Magazine, and many more.  She has written dozens of original plays; all professionally performed for the stage, and she has directed over 50 productions. In 2019, she launched the comedy blog, "Husband and Wife" to great success.  In 2022, Sage published her first book, Last Adam: Stories of Love's Redemptive Power. Receiving critical acclaim, the book can be found on Amazon, Barnes &Noble, and many online outlets. 

 Sage strives to use her drama career to impact the lives of children by also working as a Teaching Artist. In 2010, she created and launched the educational program "The Future Artist"; an intensive writing and drama course for students ranging from preschool to 12th grade.  She has been contracted my many art organizations throughout Washington DC, but is currently contracted by The Kennedy Center.

Sage lives in Northern VA with her wonderful husband and two children, who inspires everything she does, and are the reasons she achieves any kind of success at all!

Becoming a doyenne takes time and patience; it is a never-ending process...but a journey that Sage is grateful to take...
